It was a little chilly for night riding after Sarah Connor, so I
downloaded and read the whole thing on my Mac.
Some good articles. A couple maintenance pieces I found very
helpful. Nice old steel rebuild.
I get all my periodicals on line. The Reader works very well in the

Yeah, this is a very smart thing. Rivendell doing whatever it takes to
keep getting the word out and not worrying about whether it is
downloadable or paper-and-mailed to people is key. The company's
offerings have evolved a lot since the beginning, and it's the Readers

Just get in there and bid on it.

Names of obscure explorers would work for me. And also more names from

As others have mentioned, the Bombadil really is the perfect name for

Glad I have my Bombadil safely in hand! Maybe I should get an extra

and a rear rack and the build is complete - then more photos will be

I don't think there is much anyone could do if you had decals made
later or even if you purchased your own and had them applied. I don't
think however that a business can advertise and market a trademarked
name/product without paying a royalty if it were even available.

I started reading between the lines as was implied and it dawned on me
that when used on fire trails (which I don't ride on.ever) the

I'm 15-20 pounds over the Hillborne's limit but am a careful rider

I'm getting a little confused with all of the Rivendell pages. Where does
Jim post rules of what can go where?
Riv #3, the commuter, just gained a Fly with a 4D Toplight, lost a
Spanninga, and gained a nice rubber-mount rear reflector (from a Bluemel?)
in its place. The Spanninga went to the VO fe
Don't forget they've got some CX racers at Riv who probably stress stuff far
harder than we would in a casual off pavement excursion. And Rich's wheels
are as good as they come. If you ride sensibly, with due caution to the

Don't underestimate the forgiving nature of a big soft tire. If you're
running 40 mm rubber at 60 psi, peak stresses on the wheels and frame
are going to be reduced.
