Cost of painting the fork is not a factor unless it costs as much as
painting a whole bike, I don't think that'll be the case. I'm sure

I'm well on my way to converting a 1984 Trek 770 into a retro-modern
all road bike. Two shortcomings of my current road bike (a Davidson
Signature) were that it doesn't take a tire wider than 700x25, and
that it fits like a racing bike. I had it custom built in my youth,
and so now to get the bar
I carry two spares, patch kit, tire pump (Topeak Road Morph), tire
levers, Trek multitool (includes chain tool), spare master link, my
S&S wrench (Bleriot has couplers), and a bottle of chain lube.
I've had like, um, 4(?) flats with Bleriot, which is coming up on
10,000 miles.

All of the Lezyne mini-pumps I've used have a hose, which makes all
the difference in the world, IMHO.
I don't think I got more than 2 or 3 uses out of the 3 or 4 different

minutes. I then rode another 15 miles on it with no problems whatsoever. I
don't see a need for cartridge inflators. If you ride in remote areas there

I'd take the opportunity and have a local framebuilder braze-on some wire
guides or internal routing (basically two water bottle bosses on the inside
fork leg) for a front dyno light setup. a few easy braze-ons plus matching
blue/cream paint should be no more than $150 and a few days, I'd guess.

I'm not retired yet, but I'm a little over a year away from that.
Regarding painting the fork, I'm betting that it will be expensive to
do it through an auto paint shop, although it may still be your best
bet. A couple of thought
Welcome, Manny. Hot rod painters should be able to take care of you.
Alternatively, you could ship the fork to the original painter, but
I'm guessing the hot rod guys will have just as good a shot at
matching the frame paint.
