the wool shorts. My full commute is about 45 miles round trip per day
but I only ride it occasionally and do most of my rides at around
10-20 miles per day. Work just moved to a somewhat inaccessible and
dangerous route by bicycle
Not sure about coast to coast, but I've shipped some via UPS ground for around
$20-25 over the past year. Can't remember where they went at the moment.

I wear virtually exclusively MUSA shorts when riding in warm weather
and (until now) MUSA pants when riding in non-warm weather. I intend
to embrace the idea that knickers would be fine in cool weather so
that the temperature "eras" would now be three: 70-up, shorts;
45-69., MUSA knickers; 44.9
The only problem I've found is that w/out fixed foot retention, I get ITB
problems. I've had to switch back over to 100% SPD compatible pedals in
order to do longer rides. I guess I don't have the form/technique to keep
my heels in w/out them and that led to some debilitating pain. Back to SPDs
I did this about seven years ago after reading some of Grants stuff. I
thought I'd try it and lo and behold, I could ride just fine (and no
slower) with platform pedals. I now use a BMX style pin pedal with a
wide 4x4 platform and don't plan on changing. The Grip Kind pedal
seems about the same as

I still have a bit of a gut. Okay, more than a bit. But the MUSA
shorts and pant sit normal on me. When we've had some hot weather
even will slip on my huge XXL which are way too baggy now for a bike
ride. Can't wear them at work, but do wear them a lot of the time

I have a black boxy rando bag that is about as new as you can get without
actually being new. It has literally spent less time on my bike than it did in
the UPS truck that delivered it. It looks like they sell for $170 brand
spankin' new. I'd like to get $145 shipped for mine.

brake bridge, so the issue is not that they are not capable of doing
it. If they are using a solid cast brake bridge, that may be the
issue- there is nowhere for the end of the bolt to go. The bridge on

The VOs are good value but the cheaper aluminum ones are softer and
bend more easily than the much more expensive Honjo Hammered. That
said, I have 37 mm VO cheapies on two bikes and, no problems.
Honjo Hammereds are very nice.
Berthoud stainless are very nice, too, but IME the Honjos stand up to
Carl, I can't answer your question directly, but do have a lot of
experience with plastic, Al, and steel fenders. Because all metal
fenders have a 4 mm lip inside each edge which constricts tire width
somewhat, plastic fenders are generally the best bet, when you are
trying to maximize tire size

from RBW. Tires are 26x2.0 Panaracer Ribmos.
