As a couple of others mentioned, there is usually less space under a rolled edge metal fender than plastic. My (only) example - Schwalbe Marathon Cross 700x38 tires would not fit under PB Cascadia or Berthoud 45mm fenders However, they would fit under 50mm Berthoud on my (now departed) Surly Cr

If the 32s are tight under plastic fenders you might have trouble with the alluminum, as you need to allow room for their rolled and crimped edges. YMMV. I've used SKS, Cascadias, VO's and Berthouds. I like the Berthouds best of all, even though getting them adjusted over 28's on my Rambouillet w
