I use a saddle cover. Um. The one Velo-Orange sells.
Works well if you and your tandem partner are married, but not to each
other :-)
The rider I stoke for has a Cannondale tandem (aka Clifford - big and
red); we've done up to a double century on it. He bought it from
friends who upgraded to a Santana. Works for us just fine. I like

Well looks like the tandem thing sparked some interest. Lynn and I have been
riding a tandem since we were married, almost 30 years now. One of the
conditions of marriage was that she would ride cross country with me since I
was unable to go the inaugural year of 1976. Opps I hope she doesn't
Hi!
I've a few Baggins Bags I haven't used enough to justify keeping.
Nothing wrong with the bags per se; I've discovered, though, that I
need larger capacities and more organization than they support. I and
my clothes are basically too big.
These kinds of bags really do appeal to me aesthetical

Absolutely gorgeous. Is that the yellow tressostar tape? How many
rolls did you use for each side of the bars, and what is your method?
I thought I could use one for each side, but clearly not enough.

Willie had a great time. We had done a 75-mile ride on single bikes a
few months ago--he finished this ride feeling much better.
Hardest part was getting him to eat enough. He ran out of gas at
about 80 miles, so we pulled into a restaurant. He showed the salad
bar no mercy.

Hey Jim,
I'm not a leatherworker, but hey, I got an opinion. I'd be a bit wary
of putting shellac on my Brooks. Not saying it won't do the job
you're asking of it, but I don't think it's a long term solution.
Shellac finishes hard, while there is a lot of give and take movement

I've owned an older Trek steel tandem since the mid-90's. I've ridden
it with ALL kinds of people. Took on a week long organized tour one
year and rode with a different person each day. Finding a good partner
for riding tandem is a lot like finding a partner in general. I had a
good friend ride
I use Nikwax aqueous wax. It is used for waterproofing smooth leather
(boots, generally), without making the leather soft. Works great.

Hey Guys,
It looks like you had a great ride! I wish I had the chance to join you for a
longer time than the five minutes when I caught up with you. It's always nice
to see some nice looking steel bikes on the road. During my ride, I saw mostly
carbon Treks, Cervelos, and a few Cannondales. I

I'm about 2/3 of the way through it. So far, (in my own opinion), its
a great cycling adventure story for non-cyclists.
