Well looks like the tandem thing sparked some interest. Lynn and I have been
riding a tandem since we were married, almost 30 years now. One of the
conditions of marriage was that she would ride cross country with me since I
was unable to go the inaugural year of 1976. Opps I hope she doesn't see that
last statement. Our son was 18 months old when we road the first time across.
We pulled him behind our Taylor tandem in an equinox trailer and were told that
he was the youngest ever to go across. That was back in 1981. He was a
trooper. When he was 15, we went again only this time he had to pedal himself
and when my wife and I turned 50 we did a third trip across with Nancy Redpath
from Imagine Tours. We have had a Santana triplet, a Santa noventa and now
ride the Santana Beyond. The Jack Taylor still hangs from the ceiling with its
beautiful tandem campy crankset. That bike will stay in the family forever or
at least until my son inherits it. So ask away I have lots of opinions. My
brother in law rides his co motion and it to is a wonderful machine.
