Problem repaired by removing the up2date rpm and reinstalling it.

I installed psyche on a Sony Vaio PCG-Z505SX. Installation was painless.
However, after I changed files per Tom Chao's XDMCP howto, the X-server
won't start on console. I changed them back, but it still won't start.

I think that is the problem, I have a SCSI drive and IDE Drives in my
system and the boot system has to be on the first IDE drive. I believe
there is a way to avoid this although I was never able to find it and
it was just easier to put Grub on the first IDE drive.

Probably some of the OpenGL screeensavers are causing the crash.
For immediate relief, set a single screensaver (don't let xscreensaver
cycle through the list). You can use xscreensaver-demo to do this.
You can also use xscreensaver-demo to manually cycle through the
screensave
which are in different places than the scripts expect them.
I recommend you deinstall the product (or just rename the directory),
then reinstall the latest. Keep track of your license keys. PGI's
