Thanks for the help,

I have seen other python crashes on install with RH 8.
It gave me problems when I loaded my IBM A31p laptop.
Does RedHat have an updated install floppy disk? Does
RH 8.1 beta seem to fix some of these issues
not found by the kernel).
Cheers,

Wade,
That may be your problem. There's a huge speed difference between hard
drives and CD-ROM d
displayed.
Notes:
1) We are loading RH 7.3 on one of the boxes with the promise controller
installed. This seems to be working at this time.
2) I tried loading RH 8.1 beta but this too failed. It could not find the
hard disks.
Any help would be appreaciated.

On some of our RH 7.3 and 8.0 boxes, X will stop repeating
keys. Any idea why and how to fix?
For example, on my laptop it stopped repeating when I unsuspended
it this morning -- on Friday it worked fine. The computer is an IBM A31p
with RH 8.0 loaded. X was running.

Perhaps there is a time issue when the clock is changed back 1 hour?

I got a single blank page. I printed it to postscript and it took FOREVER
to come up in gv (on a 1.7G laptop RH 8.0) and on a dual PIII/800.
I think it might be a postscript render problem with Mozilla.
Note, I am using Mozilla 1.1.

boxes are dual 2 or 2.2 G XEONs with hyperthread.
However, on my cluster nodes, I am turing hyperthread off
for now
Also, has anyone looked at the Intel compiler and code it
generates? Does it faciliate hyperthreading (e.g., via threads)?

You non-Americans don't appreciate our excellent beers

Have you ever tried a real beer? Not the crapy im

Here in the US, I have had beer from many, many more countries,
including countries like the USSR that no longer existed when I
drank their beer. Most American beer is rather poor, with the microbrews
being exceptions.
Our neighbors up North have MUCH better beers

M hung.
I killed it. I tried doing queries, installs, --rebuilddb, etc. Each
program
hung. I finally tried the **Windows (C)(R) Microsoft ** solution of
reboot and upon login, rpm worked fine and I could update Mozilla.
A reply with suggestions/fixes would be most welcomed.
