Check to see that Microsoft Framework is properly installed, you'll find
what you want there in add/remove components/features.
Once this is done uninstall/remove Sound Forge and try the installation
again.

I recently bought SF 11 together with Samplitude, and installed it on both
my computers. On both pc's I can't even open a 30 second file in Sound Forge
due to apparent low memory, even though on my work machine there's 2 tb hd
space, 16 gig ram and an 8 core processo

I agree that Amadeus Pro is ideal on the Mac side, I've used it and it works
very well.
On Windows, in terms of serious audio production without vision, there is
nothing that beats Sound Forge V8 if you can get it, V9 and above have serious

If you’re just relying on Sound Forge to record with a simple keystroke then
you’re money is well and truly wasted, Total Recorder for example
records at the touch of a keystroke, just type ctrl-r from within the
Application or set up a global hotkey to record from anywhere.

If you do noise reduction and stuff like that, sometimes the vocals get
squashed along with noise removal. Izotope has things like an EQ exciter
preset called Vocal Detail which brings back the lost top end of some
