Yes I had this issue to when I updated to windows 10 some months back and I
resolved it by installing as "run as administrator" both with the install
and then running from desktop to register. I find even now I sometimes have
to select "run as administrator" to launch SF. It's a win 10 thing as I
have the same issue with other programs sometimes including adobe audition.

I didn’t have the problem you had but I’m curious nevertheless.
did you have Sound Forge Audio studio 10 installed on your computer before
the upgrade? I did and thus had the software installed when I undertook the
upgrade and I’ve not had any issues thankfully, in fact the only issues I
had with the upgrade were easily fixed, one was my fault as I didn’t have
the latest version of Window-Eyes installed when I did the upgrade to
Windows 10 and the other issue was Total Record, all the settings
disappeared however that was quickly fixed.
I’m sorry I have to sound like a record but its these times which remind me
yet again just how dam good a system backup is.
, if all else fails you can go back to where you started.
