already been pointed out here: lowering the bit rate (from what little I've
figured out) only makes the sound worse! If it's a poor recording to start

I've successfully burnt .mp3 onto an audio cdr no problems.
I use Starburn which, when you specify create an audio cdr, looks at the
source file and performs the necessary conversion and the cd plays on my

Hi I am trying to get the best quality out of some CD'S or songs off of them
that I rip with EAC in to mp3 files.
What I am needing help with is some good settings for make good sounding mp3
files of the stuff that I rip with EAC.

To split MP3 files you might like to try the free program MP3DirectCut
available from http://mpesch3.de1.cc. I hope this helps.
