i have the c240 and my wife has the c250.
you shouldn't have any trouble installing rockbox so long as you set the
USB mode to msc first.
i've been using rockbox for about six years now and also have it installed
on an archos
it to msc mode which is
the mass storage device mode.
it should then show up ok in my computer.
if it is a c200 series model, you do know you can install rockbox on it to
turn it into a fully talking machine.

there is more than one solution to the problem of charging your mp3 usb

the opening and closing sectors plus the toc.
on an 80 minute cd this means you could loose 2 and a half minutes of recording time.
