hello melanie, a very good program for doing this is dvd shrink. whats more it's a free program and works well with speech. you can get it from: www.dvdshrink.org and there's a good online users guide at: http://www.dvdr-digest.com/articles/23_1.html this will take you to page one of seven. make sure you read this first, as it goes through the settings you need to change before using it for the first time to get the best results.
