Could anyone let me know about
Switching off the mouse pointer in Windows Media Player11 in XP Home. It can
get in the way when showing video.
Thanks.

Hi all. After signing up for Sirius yesterday, I learned that to listen
online I had to press a button and listen for a series of numbers, which I
then had to copy. Ok, inconvenient, but workable. However, today when
pressing the button to make the numbers speak, I hear nothing, even after an

Thanks much for that John.I'll go and see what Nero can do.
I do know now that it appears to be MP4b that is designed with audio books
in mind. The search goes on.
Cheers,
Ray.

Hello Ray,
I don't know very much about MP4's, but I do know that you can create them
in NERO.
So you may want to explore that and see how far you get with it.
Good luck!
My best regards.
John.

I'd like some info and pointers to the benefits of working with MP4 for audio,
and some pointers to hardware, software players, encoding - in fact all about
it really.
The trouble with searching the net is that it seems MP4 is a broad standard
covering video and audio and a great deal else.

Mike, the solution is simple. Set up a list for that purpose. Generally,
I'm not one for eighteen hundred different blindness lists, but honestly,
I'd rather have one more list created than mess with the current PC-Audio
mandate. If you see a hole, fill it. That's how this list undoubtedly got
Mike, I agree that the filtering moderators provide is a worthwhile
function. This is why I believe announcement letters like Dean publishes
help to fill that need.

What's troublesome to me about the msgs Don complains about is that,
because of them, we aren't able to see announcements which would have true
value to the listers.
They are not really spam; but, in many ways, they have the same effect on
a list in dampening traffic which would benefit
don, while I agree with your sentiments regarding messages we can classify
as junk that doesn't make them spam. Spam has a definition and these posts
fall short no matter how bothersome they are.

This truly is a light traffic list. I frankly would like to see more

I think the point is that, again, this is, or should be, a specialty
within a specialty list, where audio is the specialty, how to handle
audio with our speech software, computers, maybe even broadcasting of
it, but not advertising of shows. If we do that, we'll be overwhelmed
