As much as I oppose the idea of these announcements on the PC Audio list,I have to take issue with what you say. If the list mandate allows for this kind of announcement, and you choose to remain on the list, such announcements are not spam. If you were not allowed to leave the list when the mandate changed, or if such announcements were to be sent against the mandate of the list, then they would be spam. "Spam" and "unwanted e-mail" are not interchangeable terms.
