High Samuel,
Aren't you a little mixed up there?
You said to run a line in cable from the headphone jack of the sound card to
the headphone jack of the tape player.
That trick wont work.
Because you are trying to run 2 outputs in to each other.
If the voltage was much higher then 250mv which comes
High Pall,
I totally and completely agree with you.
That site has way to many graphics.
I don't know about Window Eyes users, but that is a real pane for us Jaws
users.

Hi, John. They are indeed working on it right now. What we need to do is to
let them know that they need to make it accessible. As I understand it, you
can already go into dishonline.com and add things to your dvr. You just
can't manage the files that are already there yet. But they have a test

Hi Paul,
Yes. I am very concerned about that. I'd like to see that in writing for
sure. Disturbing, to say the least.

Hi. Wonder why they told you had no business helping them test. Dish already

I am using almost the same setup as mentioned by the others mentioned here,
but I have used a patch cable and am able to use either a headphone jack on
a walkman, or the output on a library for the blind tape player for playing
tapes. This doesn't make what they told you wrong, it is just another
Ah thanks for mentioning this again, I'd thought I'd seen something
like this before, nothing like simple and practical suggestions .

Hello Petro,
Huh? They said you have "no business" in this upon asking to be part of a
beta program? True, they aren't particularly required to necessarily admit
you, but that kind of response seems rather inappropriate as well. If you
received such a response in writing, would you share it
You need a line-in cable running from the line-in jack of the soundcard not
the headphone jack, or you will just get silence.

Hi
The Slingbox hardware and SlingPlayer software can be used by a
blind person with JAWS by using the keyboard shortcuts. The
SlingPlayer software version I use here is 1.4+.
Shortcuts like ctrl+m to toggle the audio, alt+P for the Player
menu.

Hello Sue,
Your definitely on the right list for this. I recently did this and got
a lot of help on it, it is definitely doable with the hardware you have. I

Last night I used the pass key through to lower the volume. but then as I

Have you tried the Goldwave sound editor? That is what I use for my sound

High List Members,
I have to make this quick because my bus is on the way to pick me up for
work.
But however, I too have a question about satellite radio.
I'm wanting to get an XM receiver that's made primarily for home use.
Someone at XM suggested to me the Polk Audio receiver.

How about sending the file to me and let me clean it up for you. I do this as

maybe in the future you can hire me and spread the word.

which is a stereo y jack. running from two RCA males to a single eighth inch
maile(headphone jack). You do not want to record from the headphone jack of a
walkman because of the hum you would get.

I bought a mifi for XM on Ebay for some ridiculous price, like $59 I think.
The mifi is not made anymore, so you still might find some really great
deals on Ebay.

Hi there Sue
If you are able to hook up your tape player to the computer, then yes it
could work. However, the quality may not be as good as you would like., So
I would suggest that you look at using a hifi tapedeck to achieve what you
want.
