Hello all,
I have set up gpg signing, encrypting, and I also have to decrypt when
someone send an encrypted message to me. However, I find it curious
that in order to decrypt a message I need to put my passphrase in. But
for signing, I do not need to. Is this normal? It is the same
passphrase. I'm

Hello,
I use 'i' to spellcheck. However, is it possible to not have the
quoted parts of my email spellchecked? I try to use the 'ispell'
muttrc variable which determines how spellcheck is invoked, but I do
not see a good approach. 'man ispell' does not have an option to
ignore quoting, although it

Does anyone else have a problem to use "A" to call abook to add the
sender's name and email as an entry if that name has an accent? For me
the name receives a strange questionmark and some gibberish. The name
displays fine in mutt so It think I have utf8 configured.
Kind regards,
Xu

I do not know much about the technical details. But is there a good
reason not to set pipe-decode to yes?
It helps in that it fixes a problem when adding addresses with
accented characters using abook.
Kind regards,
Xu

Hello,
It seems the pipe_decode setting does two things: weed of header and
decode message. How to proceed if I would like one but not the other?
For example I would like to decode but not to weed the headers?
Kind regards,
Xu
Dear all,
On my keyboard I do not have the character é. But I would like to be
respectful to spell the name as they prefer so I want to keep the
abook entry name as José. But problem is that in mutt when I do "Jose"
it does not match. I can do "Jos" but sometimes I forget and in other
cases "Jos"

Dear list,
I used to be surprised that pipe_decode does both decode and strip
headers and I could not choose one but not other. But now I think I
understand. If we strip header but do not decode, then it is
impossible for whatever program receives message to do the decoding
(because the necessary

Hello,
Suppose that I have a full email (i.e. with headers and everything).
e.g. I want to keep the message ID the same. How can I used mutt's
build-in smtp to send the email? Basically i want mutt to just send
the email that is already written and not change any header.
I hope to avoid using sen

Dear list,
I use mutt + offlineimap. Can I delete an email manually with "rm"
command? For example, can I delete all files in .mail/folder/cur and
.mail/folder/new with "rm" command? Will this be equivalent to if I do
delete from inside mutt?
Similar note: can I move files between folders with "m
