To see the two signatures you can run this command at the encrypted message:
gpg --batch --list-packets

You understand that opening complete HTML messages with images linked from
remote servers and also clicking on links without knowing where they may take
you, is potentially unsaf
ecipient can decrypt this message with their private key.
A copy of the message will also be encrypted by your own public key and saved
in the folder you have specified for Sent messages. It is this copy which you
can decrypt with your private key later on, if you wish to read what you sent
to the recipient.

I'm asking because it takes forever to sync with the mailserver every time I

I suspect that "secure" mobile client apps use the Google API directly with

haven't looked into it any more than this.

Hi All,
Any idea why when I delete messages in trash, it creates duplicate
messages? Is there another way to delete a single message in the trash
folder, or empty the whole folder?

to caching architecture differences between various mail clients or not yet

Could it be that the intermediate cert was not part of the p12 file bundle?

lear - If the server is sending both a CA and
server certificate chain then these two or more separate certificates in the
chain would be returned when you try to login to the server with openssl
s_client -showcerts. You can then separately examine their fingerprints and
compare with whatever you may have in your local certificate store using:
openssl x509 -in cert.pem -noout -fingerprint

connect
and check what each server is sending and manually compare the fingerprint of
the Issuing Authority. For certificates already in your .mutt/certificates
store you can check the same with, e.g.:
openssl x509 -in your_cert.pem -text
or if they are in a p12 bundle use:
openssl pkcs12 -in your_cert.p12 info
Hope this helps.

I do that too sometimes, which illustrates the need for it to be available as
a feature, because it is inefficient having to do it manually. Is there some
stanza that could achieve this automatically?

You can increase debugging by launching mutt with -d # , where "#" = 1-5.

Is there some reason why you do not archive it using the many different
archiving tools that exist on Linux (from rsync, tar, cp -a commands, to more
complicated backup applications and scripts)?

I use the space bar to page down (shift+space to page up) in a message. This
is what I have in ~/.muttrc to stop it going to the next message in the
folder:
set pager_stop

No it won't. It requires a two step process of gpg decrypting it, then piping
it to the application that can handle the mime type of the file; you may need
something like xdg-open to process it and call the default application for the
mime type, or perhaps .mailcap can play a role here? Someone with better
knowledge in this should come along soon to explain.

You may want to try setting 'record' similar to this for sent messages, unless
you want to keep a local copy:
set record = "+INBOX/sent-mail"
if you haven't already done so. With Gmail you wouldn't need to do this.

It may be my lack of knowledge with mutt that has produced this latency, but
having spent a week tweaking my configuration I did not see any improvement.

It doesn't matter, you can configure some other port for smtp on the server
