Originally, I did not have SMBOX-2 and the rule was attached to SMBOX-1
but the rule didn't execute then either. I thought creating a
sub-mailbox that only contained messages older than 14 days
Randy,
**Suggestions**:
* Perhaps you need to troubleshoot it by (temporarily) moving the
sub-mailbox to a regular smart mailbox and see if it makes a difference
to your actions.I don’t use sub-mailboxes in my rules. Could be some
limitations there.

The way you get the Rules subsystem to examine a message that is
already delivered is to use a Smart Mailbox which only includes
messages which are over a certain age. This way, messages get added
to the Smart Mailbox at that age and get subjected to The Rules.
This doesn't seem to be true i

From the manual:
"Rules are only triggered when a message is added to a mailbox which
most often happens when a new message arrives in an account."
So once a message is in a mailbox, it will not be automatically
evaluated against the mailbox rules again.

I have a rule that permanently deletes any messages with a certain tag
if it was not received in the previous 14 days. However, messages older
than 14 days remain in the maibox. I can confirm the rule works when it
is executed manually. How does MailMate determine when to execute a
rule?
