Hello Anne,
Though this may not be the best solution, couldn't you just hit the mute switch
on your iPhone to get rid of the page-turning sound? I do this with Blio and
iBooks, and it works quite well.
Best,
Mike

Hopefully one of you can try to describe to me how to convey this concept. I
have a friend who is sighted who will be getting a mac really really soon.
They know little to nothing about the mac nor about OSX. Again, Voiceover is
not going to be a concern, as they are completely sighted. Basi
I am under SBC global. I think that's yahoo. I used to have no problem with
this, and I don't know what I'm doing different.

Sorry I forgot to answer your other question. Yes, I do have a folder called

Hello Mike,
Oh, silly me! I hadn't thought of that.

Hi George,
That's interesting. You're right, I never noticed the Alva that I had being
this sluggish, but then I never used it with the Kindle app. I've forwarded
this to Hims, let's see what they have to say.

Donna

Hi Anne,
that's funny, I love that page turning sound. I guess I still conceptualize
books, at least in part, by pages. :)

Hi Harry,
I can't solve your problem but as you asked, yes I have limited success with
java applications on the mac. I can read parts of their interface, and routing
your mouse and clicking, seems to be the way to go, as opposed to using the
default action from voiceover, i.e. vo spacebar on th
Hi John Panarese,
Thanks for your reply. I have that in my answers archive now. The problem I'm
trying to solve though, is this. What if I have no idea about the date or time
when a file was deleted. I just know that it has existed somewhere in time on
my machine, and so it should now be presen
Hi,
On the Mac, in iCloud Pref pane, sign out of iCloud then sign back in with your
new Apple ID. Check also in both iTunes and the App Store. If your old ID is
still signed in, then sign out of each Store then back in with the newer Apple
ID. That should do it.

Hi Paul
You may have already tried this, but have you gone into Finder to see if you
can find the file? The way I understand things, you don't have to know the date
it was put on there if it was on your computer say at the last update or maybe
you could check a specific date you know for sure it
I'm sure it will be obvious - I've had sighted people use my mac before, and,
though it takes a bit, they get the hang of things very quickly. Apple is good
about providing visual cues that make it clear how something is supposed to
work; if there should be a handle to drag, I'm sure it would a
What do you mean? If the dialog is not read automatically, you can vo-right or
vo-left to find out what it says, just like any other place on the mac. Can you
give us an example of what you are trying to do?

Control-tab will also move forward a tab, control-shift-tab will move back a

Hi
For example, every time i start iTunes i get an Error message saying that my
firewall settings is to strong for sharing etc. I can't use the keyboard to
read this. Must use the physical mouse. I am wondering if there is a keyboard
command that put voice over in the error message window.

Hi Gigi,
I'm not sure I understand your suggestion. I did use finder to look in all
conceivable places on my mac, but I cannot find the file. I even indexed all my
external hard drives with spotlight and did a search again, but no luck. So,
the only hope remaining, is the time capsule. I don't
And it's definitely an IMAP account, right?
Okay, well try navigating to that folder called Archive in your mailbox table
under/below the heading of that account you're using. Then, in the Mailbox
menu, choose "Use this mailbox for" sub-menu. Select Archive. This folder
should then disappear fr
Kindle audiobooks are just audible audiobooks. But ordinary Kindle books can
now be read by VoiceOver, so they can be considered audiobooks in that sense.
Of course, I don't think any of us would think of that as being audiobooks. So,
in short, they're really just e-books you can read with a scr
Hello,
I don't think this is what she meant. I think she's saying, couldn't you open
the folder with the time machine backups are stored, find a date where you are
certain the file was still there, and manually retrieve it.

Hi again Paul
I have an idea, but others may want to comment before you do it. I tried using
Spotlight to search my Time Machine drive, too. Like you I couldn't get it to
work either. I did find a whole bunch of search criteria, about 200 and
something of them, but I have a horrible feeling that
Hi all, I almost never can successfully print from safari. I get the busy busy

I guess I haven't tried printing from Chrome; does that work?

Hi Nick
I figured it out, but it never occurred to me that when I landed on the name of
the folder I needed to find the entry that said iCloud and then press tab from
there. I was pasting when VO said the name of the folder, but I didn't go down
arrow to iCloud. It worked once I did. Thanks for
Hi,
What I do in this case is just press return after waiting a few seconds. It
seems that the Print request is active and pressing return sends the job to the
printer and makes Safari usable again. The problem arises when you have
multiple printers and wish to choose a different one from you
Some messages do include a graphic or three, yes, but there should always be
text in the message as well. Again, vo-left arrow and vo-right arrow will move
through everything in the dialog. If vo is not focused on the dialog for some
strange reason, try command-grauv (on American keyboards, the
OK, in theory, your time machine disk should be indexed by Spotlight. You
probably should be sure of this in Spotlight preferences in System Preferences.
I have not used the time machine interface wiht Spotlight though. I'll do
some experimenting if you are unable to find a way to do this.
Hello,
What applications do you use that give you some success? What really can cause
issues is when there are combo boxes to work with, as VoiceOver, by default,
says they are empty.
Thanks,

Hi
Thanks, now i got a chance to verify that Webroot SecureAnywhere antivirus
worked in this specific situation and stopped the modification of iCloud files
i did. Then i could verify that the VO - f2 twice worked on the Webroot error
messages and i checked the "ignore" button. Then i could pro
I never noticed a response to this one. As far as I know you should

Great tip to know about ctrl+F3, I knew about the menu bar with ctrl+F2, and
the extras area with ctrl+F8, but not that one about the dock.
