experienced much of that at all here on my mac mini. I also am using a
bluetooth keyboard. I only recall running into that space bar issue once on a
web page in Safari. Everywhere else, it seems to work fine for me

I think this window is meant to show you what method the mac is using for
listening and maybe even visually that it hears you speak.
It is the speech feedback window if I am not mistaken and I think there is a
command to say "minimize speach feedback window".

there isn't a large enough chunk of text on the webpage for reader to think it
should be active. I think it has to be two or three pages worth of scrollable

If you go into the main menu and then go to view, then go to columns submenu.
In there you can choose have attachments shown in your list of columns. I like
this much better than having to look at the message itself. Hope this helps.

Oh Thanks for this. Everytime I hear VO announce a system dialog, I never can
find it. Then I have to get my kids to help me find it and then I have them
read it to me and take the appropriate action to clear the message. I really

Just vo-shift-m on one of them and select open with. Now find the
program you want, vo-right to the checkbox about always using this
application, and check it. That should do it. If not, hit cmd-i on a
bks file and find the "opens with" popup. I might have the

I always just ignored this; isn't it just the "you've got new mail,"
notification or something, in these system dialogs? they're not anything worth
chasing down are they?

They could be but, some require your direct interaction to dismiss them. If
you don't, there just there on the screen. For example, the force quit dialog.
