At one point in time you could turn off the trackpad by turning on mouse keys
and telling the machine to ignore the trackpad while mouse keys were on.
On both of the Mac Laptops I've owned, the ignoring option doesn't stick after
a reboot. I haven't tried this yet in Lion however.

OK, I must be an idiot. I did everything you said to do and when I went to the
message menu for the reply options, there was no reply to sender. There was
only reply all and reply and reply in I message.

First of all, you need to be in classic view to do this. You also need to have
the Trackpad Commander turned off.
Go to the horizontal splitter above the body of the message using the VO keys,
then bring the mouse (VO-Cmd-F5) and double click using either the trackpad or

can make straight audio files easily enough from the Services menu
