trouble copying my virtual machine

hi guys, I can't get my xp virtual machine to copy across the network. The system says I don't have permission to read the file, but when I look, the everyone item shows read and write. The file is locked, and I can uncheck the lock box and fill in my password but it doesn't unlock the file.
