Hello, I do use adium on the mac, when i use my mac, i also use skype. I mostly
use my mac at school and in the library though so i do not use adium all that
much. Still I find it fairly accessible and I do not use its built-in voice
announcements.

Are you setting up ethernet for the first time? Remember that you can
set up a location with your selected connecting preferences. As Frank

Thanks; Network preferences was the place I didn't look, so thanks for
teaching me that. As it turns out, all I did was shut of Airport an d
the Ethernet connection to the router was there already. Slick, that.

Leopard (and a MacBook), when I switch off AirPort and change over to
Ethernet I can't automatically get a connection. Wonder if this is

When I set up my Mac Mini with Leopard, I set the Airport connection
as the Default; however, if you simply plug your Ethernet cable,
Leopard should detect it automatically. There is a setting in the
Network preference to "connect Automatically". This should

Hmmm, that is a possibility, but not sure since I use dhcp. I wanted
to do a combination of dhcp and static but didn't have enough
machines to go through all that work. :) If I had a server and was

savings time. And it is right option-T by default for the time. Notice
