Hey Tim,
Thanks, this worked just as you described. I'm so glad I'm on this list.
Take care,

This way you will always use the DAC from the iPod. Because the sound that
comes through 3.5» is analog. Unless you have a very expensive hifi upsample
box or something other expensive hifi equipment. But, you never know with
theese apps. It may be one app out there that can improve the signal b
What I've been doing is running it out from the 3.5 jack. Is there a way to do
that and preserve sound quality?

Hi,
To get the iTunes Plus higher quality songs when you are subscribed to iTunes
Match, do the following:
1. Go into iTunes.
2. Select the Songs view.
3. Select the songs you wish to upgrade.
4. Press the Delete key.
5. Pay attention to the dialog that appears and make sure that you don't
No problem. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

My view is because of the speakers on the iPod Touch. To me they sound so tinny
that it's hard to impossible to decipher what's in the music. Little to no bass
and too much of the higher frequencies. Just my £0.02 worth.

Hi Erik,
Oh, weird! It would never have dawned on me that I have to do that. So, how
do I go about it? If I delete the local copies, will the match copies import
automatically?
Thanks both of you, Eric and Lisette. I'll really be glad to have solved this.
Best,
Donna

Hi Donna,
You can use iTunes match to get the higher quality recordings to play
but it is not automatic. you will be playing your local copy until you delete
them and then import them back from iTunes match. Here is a kind of amazing
example. I recorded many vinyl records and then pl
Hi Donna,
Sorry I don't use iTunes match so have no idea on that one.
I'm sure others will chime in.

Hey Lisette,
thanks. You know, I didn't look at the bit rate, and I should have. Much as I
would dislike importing my CDs again, the poor sound quality does bother me
quite a bit. One thing I wonder, though, I have iTunes match, so wouldn't I be
playing a higher quality recording, even if my
Hi Donna,
When you import CDS, you can choose to increase the bit rate to a higher
quality. I always import at 192 kbps as I can hear the degradation and it
bothers me.
You can choose all these settings in iTunes prefs under the general tab.
You'll have to re import your CDs again but maybe it's
Hi all,
Recently I have had occasion to compare the sound of my actual CDs juxtaposed
with the imported versions of those same CDs played on the same speakers, but
played from my 4th gen touch. There's a noticeable degradation in sound
quality when the music is played from my ipod. Just wonde
