Hi Donna,

You can use iTunes match to get the higher quality recordings to play
but it is not automatic. you will be playing your local copy until you delete
them and then import them back from iTunes match. Here is a kind of amazing
example. I recorded many vinyl records and then placed them in itunes. Later
I noticed that many of them were recognized by iTunes.and showed up as matched.
Once I deleted them from itunes I could then bring them back from itunes
match. When they came back they were true high quality copies from itunes and
not my vinyl recordings! Mostly I was happy with the exchange. For a few
albums I missed the album sounds.
