Hi Donna,
When you import CDS, you can choose to increase the bit rate to a higher
quality. I always import at 192 kbps as I can hear the degradation and it
bothers me.
You can choose all these settings in iTunes prefs under the general tab.
You'll have to re import your CDs again but maybe it's worth it for you.
I am not a great expert on all this sample and bit rate stuff, but I do know I
can hear it when it's too low. By default it's set at 128 kbps I think.
Check it out.
