Hello Esther,
I think everyone who joins one of the lists you post on should be
advised to create a special "Esther's pearls of wisdom" mailbox in
which to store your many wonderful posts. After a while, they would
have a very handy manual for OS X with VO.
Cheers,

Hi Ester,
That's fine. I wasn't sure who he was responding to. The original
discussion was in regards to the context menu so I think my post still
applies in some way.
Take care.

Hi Barry,
We've got two different discussions going on here. Yuma was
responding to my (lengthy) post about the options on the Safari
Preferences menu for tabbing. Although they use sequences like
Command-Click, Command-Shift-Click, Command-Option-Click, and Command-
Option-Shift-Click f

Yuma,
I don't know how new you are to voiceover and the Mac so I want to
make sure something is clear to you.
vo-shft-m is a voiceover key and not a Safari key and you won't find
it in the Safari help. You can use that anywhere to bring up a
context menu. There are times when it doesn't w
Hi Yuma,
Shift seems to act as a secondary modifier on the Mac. In some
instances, like adjusting sliders for sound or brightness, or moving
splitters or resizing windows, pressing the shift key gives you fine
control to move in smaller increments. In other cases, such as using

Hi ester,
I do think opening new windows might be better. Perhaps with snow
leopard it's fixed as i think they have the individual threads for
each tabs, but i'm still on leopard right now. Soon though :)
Also, it might be easier to just command accent for jumping from

Hi Yuma,
If you follow Barry's suggestion, you don't need to route your mouse
cursor to the VO cursor to open in a new tab with Command-Enter (or,
more accurately, Command-"Return"). If you want to open in a new
window instead of a new tab, open your Safari preferences (Command-
comma), n
Thanks, i'll try that. to route the mouse cursor to the vo cursor it's
VO command F5 right?
Thanks

Hi guys,
So shift acts a bit like a secondary command list. That's good to
know :)
I have looked at a list of keyboard shortcuts, but they vary from
context to context, or so it tends to make me believe.
Thanks a lot for the info though, one more for the mac

Hi,
You can open a link in a new tab by pressing cmd-enter.
You can bring up a context menu in the usual way with vo-shft-m for
more options. I find it a little odd that you haven't tried that.
Just as a side note, You can open Safari help and type keyboard in the
search field to see all o

Take a look at your Safari preferences menu and select the tab button
on the toolbar (Command-comma to open preferences, interact, navigate
to tab button and press
Dear Yuma, Do you mean to open a particular link in a new browser
window? Try routing your mouse cursor to your vo cursor - unless you
have the two cursor tracking - and then perform right click by holding
the control button and clicking the physical mouse. You should be
presented with a m
