Hi as mentioned before I now have 24 inch iMac.
Because I switched from a 2011 build Mac to a new one I had to change to the
latest Carbonite software. Apparently I was using a legacy version in the past
that would not run any longer.
Does anybody also use Carbonite Safe Home? I am using build

For the most part I find it ok. Not as easy as it was on the PC.
Still worth the cost for me.

The restore process was ok for the most part. When you log into their web site
you can have your files appear in a browser format. You then choose to restore
all the files or selected files. I am a fairly new mac user and found the
process wasn't to difficult.

Hello All:
I am responding to the thread about Carbonite. At present, there is no
facility for backing up external drives. However, I am told this will change
with a new release.
Also, I have to say that they have excellent customer service and have saved my
butt a time or two. I would not

I don't use it on the mac, but try the menu extras. You'll need Mountain Lion
for access, Lion does not let you focus on any app menu beyond the ones the OS
includes.

I don't know anything about carbonite, but the shared apps folder is a

Hi all,
This may be a question for carbonite, but I thought someone on here might know.
I am almost ready to switch my backup to my mac instead of windows. When I do,
I assume carbonite will back up my apps (in the applications folder). My
question, though, is: will it also back up app data

Neil,
Are you able to access the panel on the left? Last time I attempted to use
carbonite I was not able to change between backup and restore because that area
was not accessible by Voice Over.
Thanks,
Keith

It's interesting that you should say that you had been able to use Carbonite

Hi all,
recently I asked if Carbonite online backup could be used on the Mac
with no reply.
I wrote to Carbonite and asked the question if Carbonite worked with
VoiceOver. I have received a reply from the company. They say that
Carbonite will not work with the Mac Screen reader.

I'm sorry, I was not clear. I have only tried it with windows screen
readers; I have never used it with vo at all. Carbonite offers a
30-day trial, though, so people can play with it to see how it works
and not have to pay. Sorry again for the confusion.

Yes, but only with jaws and nvda. It is mostly accessible, though
setup may require use of the jaws cursor. Once set up, though, it is
accessible.
