Hik, all,
I sometimes have trouble with cursor tracking when my sighted husband is
looking at the screen and using the trackpad. I have the mouse pointer
following the VO cursor. I didn't have the visual VO cursor enabled, and he
couldn't find the mouse pointer at times, even when I routed it.
That could very well be. I limited its CPU usage, but don't remember off-hand
what percentage. 25% seems to stick in my head.

native dictation features on the mac I have a wired headset with a microphone,
which was bundled with Dragon Naturally Speaking for my PC. Since the Mac Air
has a single headphone jack that is duel in nature

I encountered the same problem of getting stuck in the combo box. I found a way
to do the remapping of any key in the "to" combo box to the grave accent key.
Here's what needs to be done.
1) VO to the first shift check box and park the mouse on it by pressing
VO+command+ F5.
As I said, I did it, so clearly it is possible. Without launching the thing and
making a new set I don't have the step by step instructions, but you don't
bother with any of the edits, you simply arrow down the lists till you get to
the key you want, and things like insert are in the special cat

Ok so I tried to remap keys in Fusion and can't get it to work. I get
to a list of current mappings and press add. I'm then in a dialog
where it seems I'm supposed to choose the key I want to press and then
what I want it to map to. There are some checkboxes with all the
modifier keys

You are mapping a windows key to a Mac key, so the insert key comes from
Windows, and you map it to a key on your Mac keyboard. You go into fusion
settings with command-e, find the keyboard tab, and add the two mappings. The
effect is that when in Fusion, your Mac key of choice is turned in
You're exactly right, OSX doesn't pass the caps lock key to the windows VM. The
workaround is to remap another key on the keyboard to act as a caps lock or
insert key. Many people remap the grave accent key (above the left tab key and
