I just upgraded from lyx 1.3.5 to 1.3.6 on a Windows XP, and all the
keyboard shortcuts (CTRL-D for view DVI, etc..) are gone! (unknown
function).
Where might I get these back? (what file have I lost somehow?)

Is there a reason the lyx editor inserts extra space (a blank row) before
and after equations? You can then stand at the end of the equation and press
DEL to delete this extra space, or backspace from the beginning of the
equation line.
Is there a typographical reason for this?
You don't really need lots of ERT's for simple stuff.
I as well use "notitlepage" for the document, and make everything myself via
large fonts, vfills and hfills from within lyx. It comes out fine.

They don't work on my lyx 1.4.2 Windows XP with MikTex 2.5 even though
htlatex is installed and works via command line.
In html view, I get an error saying lyx can't find the file

The log file shows that bibtex complains that the "buffer size exceeded",

If anyone is interested, the problem was trying to compile lyx with
g++-2.96 while the qt library was compiled with g++-3.2.
It now compiles perfectly (using g++-3.2).

I am having a little annoying problem running convert from inside lyx.
Whenever I want to view the dvi, lyx complains:
Cannot convert file.
Error while executing convert BMP:'x.bmp' EPS:'x.eps'
while in the terminal (from which lyx was started) this appears:
convert: Unable to open file (x.
I have a problem that lyx does not pass the directory information to the
file converters. i.e. $$i and $$o do not contain the full path of the
files, therefore "convert" can't find them.
If lyx is started from the directory these files reside in, the converter
finds them.
Is there a way to fix

as a document option the citing style you want, as, "prb" (for Phys. Rev.

The solution for you is a Linux LiveCD.
You can use it on any computer which can boot from a CD, and it even usually
the right hardware correctly - network cards etc.
Knoppix used to have lyx but they removed it to make room for other things.
