Does anyone here have any experience using LyX 1.3.2 through an X-server?
I'm using Exceed (tried X-Win32 as well), and as usual, there are problems
with fonts. Even though I have installed the latex-xft-fonts both on my
local windows machine, and on the remote host, fonts display in LyX

We need the patch-level version of xforms too ideally. It is probably an
xforms bug. You could try one of the xforms 1.0 release cand
Hi,
I've just compiled up lyx-1.2 under Solaris 8 and get the following
error when starting it:

I did a bit of digging around and find that this only happens on my
24bit depth Xserver and not 8bit depth.
The exact story is as

Hi,
I am using 1.1.6fix1 under KDE with SuSE Linux 7.1
If LyX documents get a little bit more complicated (some jpg pictures,
some tables) it happens frequently that LyX crashes and when dying takes
down the X Server and the whole KDE session.

It is well-known that Umlaute are ignored and removed from lyx files if

If I set LC_ALL de_DE

Okay, I was hoping it wouldn't come to this, but I have had to put my
Linux box in moth balls and have reverted to using windows 98.
(shudder) I can make do without a lot of the conveniences found on
Linux, but Lyx is definately not one of them.

Hello,
this days I am going out of swap space, and didn't understand why.
What happens is that every picture in the Lyx document is increasing the
memory allocated in the X server.
Look that:

The Mono switch is not of any use here. The switch is -depth or -visual,
AFAIR.
Or, as I wrote, try the "vncserver -depth 16" trick.

This is not an xforms problem, per se. You see, my lyx works just fine
on my Linux box. Where I get that core dump is when I am trying to
display lyx to a VNC server (or a MicroImages X server).
Also, I recompiled my xforms from the SRPM, so there'

I've been trying to figure out why LyX core-dumps when I try to run it
with the display on a PC laptop running the MicroImages X-server. The
X-server works with other programs. When I start LyX, it displays,
then crashes with the messages:

I use LyX-1.0.0 on Sparc Solaris machines. I recently tried
displaying LyX on an X-Server (MicroImages) on my laptop running
