I am trying to open a lyx file produced by a conversion script and
Lyx (1.6.5) fails claiming lyx2lyx could not convert it.
The lyx file is in lyx format 2.16 (or so it claims in its header).
Launching lyx2lyx from the console gives the following error:

In all the years I've used LyX I've never seen this before: while checking

Dear Lyxers,
I am trying to convert a batch of old documents written with Framemaker
into
LyX. There is a nifty little utility that allows the conversion and I have
used it successfully in the past (mif2lyx). However, it has not been
maintained since 2000 and it produces lyx files in t

You've a fairly old version of g++. Maybe upgrading gcc might solve the

Thanks, I installed gcc-4.3.2 locally and ... LyX compiled successfully
(even without re-compiling Qt beforehand).

Hi everybody,
making lyx 1.6.0 on Suse 9.2 with a local install of Qt 4.4.3 fails with
"Menus.cpp:85: error: forward declaration of `struct

Same error comes up if I try compiling it against Qt 4.3.2 (I had used

Hello. I've not been able to compile LyX 1.5.5. The error
is that reported in bugs 4499 and 4734, caused by
forward declaration of struct QSessionManager.
I had the same problem with LyX 1.5.4
and Qt 4.3.4. It occurs with the target

First question that comes to me: what version of R are you using?

Hi all,
Using Lyx 1.5.2 and MiKTeX 2.5 on XP. I am trying to use the Sweave

documentation for how to do this on a windows install, but I have

You need to export your file in LyX 1.5.x as LyX-file in the format of LyX 1.4.x. The resulting file
gets then the file extension ".lyx14" and this can you can open with LyX 1.4.x.
