That worked. First, I copied the original <file>.lyx to <file>-lyxformat-508.lyx, then ran $>/usr/share/lyx/lyx2lyx/lyx2lyx <file>-lyxformat-508.lyx -o <file>.lyx That successfully converted the original to format 544, which the frontend was able to render. Is it possible that there's a bug in the automagic process?
