Danke Uwe.
Going to the update wizard via the package manager, rather than directly (even
as admin) seems to fix the problem.

Thanks Liviu. Inserting a Child document .tex file was exactly what I

Hi
I want to automatically update latex code embedded in a LyX document that

Also are boxes

We are currently using the Cambridge University Press latex style

Maybe anyone with anything to say about Lyx could tag their subject with [Lyx]

FWIW I hate index entries that redirect me. There may be an occasional
justified use (redirect me to a concept with many sub-entries) but most
redirect me to another entry to give me a page or two. Surely this is
archaic?

OK - I sorted it out. It was of course simply that I'd tried to put ERT into a
non-standard environment - paragraph - having forgotten that 'standard' is what
I should normally use, and paragraph is a level in the section hierarchy. There
have been a couple of others I noticed lower down the lis

your `}' was spurious, just type `2' and it will go away.
Any ideas?

I think you are right Helge - I'll use version 4. Eventually someone will update

Hi,
I wonder how I can setup lyx to automatically number all my equations. That

an equation number appended (shown as (#) in lyx) without me typing any
further keys. So far, I tried several article style including the "AMS

command in ERT only generates more errors. I have also tried adding this
to the preamble, with no luck.
Thanks.

I hate to seem obtuse, but what am I doing wrong here? I am appending the

Hi, I am trying to get lyx to convert .lyx files to other formats from
the command-line. I am using version 1.1.6fix1.
I have noticed the -i and -e command line options, but when I try:

I get:

If, however, I include a bibliography construct in any
individual document, I get the diagnostic output and a
bibliography section.
Can anyone advise? I can't seem to find anything about this
in the documentation.
