The spec file distributed with LyX sources doesn't allow relocation,
but a few changes would allow it to.

Since a lot of people ask for RPMs of LyX, and since several people have
been able to contribute one to each request, could there not be an
"official" RPM? It could be kept on the LyX site, uploaded to RedHat
contrib, and deal with a few small configuration issues (such as putting
the files under
