Of course. They would have to have upgraded to RPM 3.0.1 before they
could rpm --rebuild from my packages.

Jean-Marc> Did you make them with the lyx.spec found in the

I rolled my own before I noticed the ones in the development
directory. I think mine is a simpler spec file, and has a couple of
advantages (all of which could be incorporated into the lyx.spec in
development/):
1) Installs everything under /usr rather than /usr/local per RedHat
standard practice.
2) Simpler installation process.
3) Installs the LaTeX files in the texmf directory structure and runs
texhash.
I've included the spec file here.
Jean-Marc> I would be really nice to have one rpm-master who would be

Jean-Marc> So Kayvan, Pierre-Henri, Mate, which one of you could do that?
At this point, I can only produce RH 6.0 RPM files. So, if someone
else wants to do the whole thing, I'd be happy. On the other hand, we
can coordinate things in such a way that I do RH6.0 files and someone
else does 5.X RPMS, but even with that scheme, we should all use the
same spec file.
Also, things get a bit hairy if you try to do the packaging for the 3
or 4 different variants of RedHat (4.2, 5.1, 5.2, 6.0) and the two
different brands of rpm (2.5.x and 3.0.x). At some point, we have to
just encourage folks to upgrade their RPM (rpm-3.0 will work on all
the various RH versions).
So, what do you folks want to do?
