This patch allows pasting elsewhere w/o needing to Edit->Copy
first.
It's hackish, but xforms is too inflexible, and seems to have got
the X selection model totally wrong.

Yes it would seem so.
Open a new document, insert a figure float and put something inside it
(optional I think).
Open another document.
Close the document you just opened.

The old graphics did some tricks and added the environment the new
graphics doesn't play such tricks, the interaction when removing the new
and using the old is undefined.

I was opening an example file called "Mathlabelling.lyx", I tried to scroll the
document with the scrollbar.
The document immediately disappeared, I choosed the document name from the documetn
