If you use adjust tcp mss in for the ppp interface you need not change any
other MTU.
Lately, bezeq recommands using ppp keep alive with the Samsung PPPoE modem.

I don't know much about the linux/adsl combo but I do know that on a win2k
box I have I had the same problem (although I didn't adjust the mtu). I have
just recently (last week) converted my Alcatel home to an Alcatel Pro and
removed all need for a dialer at all. This connection is much more stable

I have been running my adsl connection on my linux box for only a few days.
While I had no problems setting up the connection (good work fellows), I am
experiencing some random disconnects. The linux machine is masqing for a
