Hi, I think I've discovered a bug in 2.19.80.
When I change the key signature midway through a piece, the key of a
transposed part is placed ahead of the key in the other parts. See the
attached file if what I say makes no sense.

Incidentally - do check the log file produced. Your music is throwing lots

Mostly re AccidentalSuggestion.avoid-slur.
If the corresponding overrides in \layout are commented back in,
there are no more such warnings (but still no slurs).

Hi everyone,
Hope you're all having a great day. I had a friend ask me a question the
other day which got me thinking. I figured the best way was to pass it
along here and ask the community what they think. (My friend is strongly
considering switching to LilyPond from Finale currently)

Easiest in the short-term is almost
Thank you for your replies.
Unfortunately, I still can't make head-or-tail of most of them, so some more
context might help.
The music I'm trying to transpose isn't mine. I downloaded it (quite
legally!) from CPDL. I therefore have no control over which Lilypad version
it is.
As I said, I want

Lilypond aligns the key signature (only the flats or sharps) and puts
the key cancellation (which is a different object from the key
signature) before the key signature.

Of course you do: use convert-ly (as I did) to update it automatically.
That's one of the great benefits of open source music.
Hi all,
I can probably work a lot out on my own, but if someone could direct me to
any Lilypond-specific Scheme tutorials that might help with the idea I'm
thinking about, that would be super!
My idea is to remove a lot of boilerplate for score creation. Thus I can
have music defined as:

I didn’t know the repository on github.
I’ll take a deep look on the whole library.

Hi Karlin,
No, not correct, and not a useful analogy.
The lambda calculus is a universal model of computation. Scheme is a
reasonably thin layer over the top of lambda calculus to make it more
practical for programming. Scheme therefore has deep theoretical beauty,
almost no syntax, and is much l
