Running Frescobaldi on Mac OS 15.5 - no problems.
In Frescobaldi under Preferences I choose Lilypond 2.25.27 and it installs
flawlessly.
Lilypond is then located here: /Users/[USER]/Library/Application

Hi!
Well, I’m not so interested in what you think is a "point".
All I am asking for is good practice to override code in LilyPond in a way that
doesn’t interfere with the codebase.
Is it possible to discuss that instead of reasons? I think all of us interested
in using LilyPond will learn from
Hi, this question goes far back in history, as several people in this thread
have pointed out.
As someone who is well-educated with a Master of Fine Arts in music, trained
choir conductor, and with studies in music psychology (among other things), I’m
well aware of the historical facts.

Hi!
Yes, that is a good idea.
I can also change in define-note-names.scm to achieve want I want but then I
have to do that every time a new version of Lilypond is released. But then I
can use \language ”svenska” which is what I want of everything else except h -b.
What I really want is this o
Hi!
There’s a long story behind why we have both “H” and “B” for the same note.
It’s not my intention to educate anyone about that history—I’m simply trying to
find a solution where I can combine solid Swedish tradition, which is based on
the German system, with the English one.
Nowadays, many
Hi!
I’d like to use LilyPond with Swedish note names, but with one exception: I
want to treat the notes h, hess, and hiss as b, bess, and biss instead—just
like in English notation.
The same goes for chord names: I’d like to write B, Bb, and B# rather than H,
B, and so on.
Is there a go

What are your thoughts and recommendations for investing my time in learning a

I use Frescobaldi on all of my Macs with slightly different operating systems.
It works well, but I'm concerned about the future. Unfortunately, I'm not a
programmer, so I can't contribute with coding. This is exciting, perhaps a bit
too exciting, considering how we'll be able to continue with L

I would like to write e.g. am7-5 or Eadd9 or any other jazz and pop styled
chords.
Is there a simple solution?

run Frescobaldi on Mac. The only thing is that I have
to click on the Frescobaldi icon in dock when I start up the program.
Maybe there are other issues that I’m not aware of, but for me it works great.
