Steve installed the 2180 I've got in Ken Cottle's KR-1½ and it's held up
well. I've always presumed the CHT reads a bit low and operated the
engine accordingly. After all these years I use the instrument to just
notice any change, not to represent CHT precisely. Same with oil temp.

Wind was gusting to 44 MPH. Because his landing gear had such high
ability to compress, he couldn't keep his upwind wing low. Reminder of
how important it is to not let the wind get under the upwind wing when
taking off or landing in strong crosswinds.

What a huge and expensive effort to get this plane back on its feet and
returned to its country of origin! A true labor of love and so well
documented! Roy's plane can now take its place beside "Old Blue" as an
iconic KR. Let's hope it winds up in a museum, unlike Ol' Blue.

and reliability. They are better than nothing but are thought of as a
Chinese product with a limited lifespan. Of course, everything has a

ACK-30's back to ACK for calibration and checking. As I recall they will
do this for free. Give them a call and confirm this before you spend any
money.
