If the problem with the RF coupling to the trim wire is back in the tailcone, can't you just wrap some aluminum foil around the wiring where it runs close to the antenna? It wouldn't be visible back in the tailcone and wouldn't be any worse for the antenna than having a wire there. See Mark La
