I don't know about tri-gear KRs, but both of my taildragger KRs will
take off with no stick input when they hit flying speed, which is
somewhere around 45 mph indicated (which
To go to the 40 kts was also my idea, but I hoped to take the nose off the

Stef,
That's a great suggestion from Phil. Doing this will let you figure out a
first setting for your pitch trim. And to verify your air speed indicator is
working!
Good Luck and Congratulations!

My nose wheel kr will fly itself off at or just below 60kts. So I would Use
full throttle from standing start to check static rpm is ok and as speed

Stef, Hi Speed is a relative term. There's all kinds of room between low speed
and takeoff speed. Since yours is a nosewheel just keep forward pressure on the
stick and the other hand on the throttle. After all, You are a pilot, you've
got this. Good luck.

Hi, Tony!
Why can't you get a VW engine in Europe? isn't Germany still in Europe?
Looks like that would be the first choice.
Jim
You are right, Germany is still in Europe (!). I don't know why, but engine
rebuilding is not that popular here. In my airfield we're 95% Rotax. I must
admit that those engines are great (do not flame me, please). I've had one

it is critical the

looks great but I wouldn' spin it.

I have read with interest the ltrs. to the Net re. the concern many
pilots have in the ground handling of a tail dragger KR type.As Danny
