I would suggest that you read the plans and follow the building  sequence as 
printed. You do not have to build everything from scratch if you are willing 
to pay more money for the pre molded parts or machined parts.  If you build 
all from scratch it will be easier to modify the airplane to suit you. For 
example, the KR pre molded parts will fit most easily on an UNMODIFIED 
fuselage...and the engine specified. The cowling may not fit over a Rotax 
engine.
Rotax 912 is probably two or three times the cost of a GREAT PLAINS VW or a 
Corvair conversion and no more reliable.
