I don't know about tri-gear KRs, but both of my taildragger KRs will
take off with no stick input when they hit flying speed, which is
somewhere around 45 mph indicated (which is more like 53 true airspeed).
This is with neutral trim on the elevator. If you don't want it to
fly, some forward stick might be in order. I'm sure you know this, but
on the first flight, the most important thing you can do is to take it
to altitude and verify the indicated airspeed at which it stalls. That
way you have a speed that you don't want to fall below while landing.
Airspeed indicators are notorious for reading low at low speeds.
Ideally, approach over the fence at 10-15% faster, and be prepared for a
long float while the speed bleeds off. With more experience you'll be
comfortable landing with a lower approach speed that is closer to stall
speed. Given the very low wing to ground clearance of a KR, there's a
bit of a safety cushion on landing, as the stall speed drops a bit due
to ground effect.
