Level cruise at 2000 ft. MSL and 2800 RPM had a speed of 106 Kts IAS (122 MPH). My estimate is that would be about 60 % power. No wheel fairings installed. Have not had an opportunity to test other cruise and climb settings. Sid Wood Tri-gear KR-2 N6242 California, MD, USA -

2950 rpm is what I got out of mine.  I got this from watching fuel flow, MAP,  and RPM levels on takeoff from several EIS data files from one of the times that I flew the 2700cc engine with the Sensenich 54x54 on it. Mark Langford +++

If your pulling 28 something MP at WOT, one would suspect that the prop is limiting the engine from turning a higher rpm. On another subject, typically Warp Drive props and the VW engine have not made for a great long term marriage. Steve Bennett

Don You must have had a very fine pitch non standard or undersized prop. Max static rev on the O-320E2D in the 150hp Cardinal is only about 2350rpm according to the manual. I'm not surprised the engine failed, with 2600 rpm static it could easily be red lined in the cruise unless flown at reduc
