Level cruise at 2000 ft. MSL and 2800 RPM had a speed of 106 Kts IAS (122
MPH). My estimate is that would be about 60 % power. No wheel fairings
installed. Have not had an opportunity to test other cruise and climb
settings.

Sid whats your cruise speed at that power setting?

The static RPM is 3150 on my Great Plains 2180 VW rated at 76 hp with

2950 rpm is what I got out of mine. I got this from watching fuel
flow, MAP, and RPM levels on takeoff from several EIS data files from
one of the times that I flew the 2700cc engine with the Sensenich
54x54 on it.

Yep, if the Cor
I ended up happiest with a Sensy 54x58 for the 3100cc. I think the
54x54 Sensy is perfect for the 2700cc engine

If your pulling 28 something MP at WOT, one would suspect that the prop is
limiting the engine from turning a higher rpm.
On another subject, typically Warp Drive props and the VW engine have not made
for a great long term marriage.

That is good static for a 0-200 on a KR. My KR had an
0-200 with that prop and it did very well.

It sounds like you're in the ball park. That's about what I get, even
on climb out. Straight and level, full throttle, I get about 2650 to
2700 rpm. My
Over the week end I got N211JR out of the hanger and did a static RPM test with
the sturba 60X68 prop. The best I could get with my 0200 was 2400. That gives
me some concern because I was getting 2550 with the 69X48 senswitch. Larry
Flessner what kind
static RPM are you getting?

You must have had a very fine pitch non standard or undersized prop. Max
static rev on the O-320E2D in the 150hp Cardinal is only about 2350rpm
according to the manual. I'm not surprised the engine failed, with 2600 rpm
static it could easily be red lined in the cruise unless flown at reduc

Alittle out of my realm of knowledge but I will state an observation that I
have made of certified engines.
They rarely if ever get anywhere close to their redline on a static engine
runup. I would not be too quick to condemn the setup until you did at least a
high speed taxi run to see what th
