Thanks Rick for the good suggestion to convert my bird to a trigear. I see
most of the older air planes (in the 60s, 50s or earlier) were taildraggers,

Thanks Larry. What you did showing in the picture is such a simple &
excellent solution!
I notice that you have hydraulic breaks. Mine is cable, not good at all

I I think the biggest problem with taildragger is the poor visibility or
the restricted pilot views outside the cockpit, primarily during taxing and
landings. Since I have gotten a taildragger, and I realize it's much harder
to find a pilot who can test flying this bird, much less hope of flying it
Tricycles drive better. Tailwheels fly better.

My tailwheel experience comes from flying a 45HP Rotax 447 engined Mini-Max
R1600. My buddy passed away and his wife asked me to sell the airplane. I had
to move it from its Homebase airport to Mesquite Metro Airport (KHQZ) in
Dallas. That was one hell of an adventure. Thank God that HKQZ has a

Taylor monoplane. Some thoughts on tailwheel training. For those new pilots
wanting to get some stick time in a taildragger there are 2 seat ag plane's
such as Piper Pawnee that has some compairneson to a KR touchy elevator and
so on. May be worth checking in your local area for this type of plane.

I don't know if flying a tri-gear is the moral of the story, however it
surely does make ground handling more comfortable since you can see
things better and are sitting in a level, more natural, attitude. I was
amazed the first

Moral of the story...
Fly a tri-gear.

I'd totally agree with your assessment if his plane is a tricycle geared
plane. Then its flight characteristics
are like the Grummans.

I can certainly come to pick you up with an AF pilot friend flying my Piper

I regularly fly/drive to see my kids in California, we can work something

Find somebody with a bunch of time in an RV six or eight. They are very very
similar in the way they handled and how light the controls are. If somebody has
lots of time tail wheel RV that would be better. Even though yours might be a
