4.5 lbs is a lot of weight to add to foam horns. Even with CF on the ends.

I can't decide where to put my elevator counter weights. I'm adding three inche
foam horns to the elevator and covering the hole thing with carbon fiber.
With the horns just foam will they be strong enough to support the weight or
should I just add the weight off the push rod like Mark did.
I just got out bidded on eBay in the last second on a MA-3SPA carb.
Frustrating !

of the soundproofing / insulation foam. The drawing shows the floor to go
all the way back to the front of the spar. there is nothing to glue the floor
to front of the spar.

Fwd of the spar there is no 5/32 cross member for the back edge of the 3/32
plywood to sit on. I thinking when I step into the plane the back edge will
collapse. I double check the drawings to see if I miss the crossmember and I
didn't.

Can someone tell me the distance between the bottom of the firewall and the

I think pulling staples is pretty boring job . I remember when I was in the
Air Force as a sheet metal mechanic. A B-52G pilot accidentally put the flaps
down when he was going much to fast. Me and three other airman had to reskin
the back sides of all the flaps. Now that was boring.

Looking at drawing A dated Sept 1992. At the diagonal memberbetween
vertical A&B. You'll see the member goes from the top longeron down to the
bottom longeron. If you look at drawing B detailed B. The diagonal member goes
up to the bottom of the bottom shelf under the engine mount rails.

The original horizontal stabilizer calls for 5/8 Square stock on the outboard
edge. With Mark's airfoil, does the outboard template need to be made out of
5/8 spruce? I hope not that's a lot of weight. I'm thinking quarter inch

Where I'm getting my measurements from are from the AS5045 drawings. Not from
the plans. The fwd center spar caps are 2.16". Add the web material you come
up with 2.253". This would be the same for the outboard spar also. The AS5045
outboard spar is .22" wider. So I think it would be best
